How do I recognise ash?

here are some pics of ash logs I googled, hope it may of been some help!

On the ''not easy being Green'' forum they have a section devoted to woodfuel. Under the thread entitled ''Recognising firewood - Ash'' they have some nice shots of some seasoned 'Ash' logs, only problem being - they're Oak!

thats cracking lol there is a shopping centre near me called the OAK MALL, they have a huge big cut out of a tree in the back ground of the sign, and its a sycamore ha ha

been grown by a river and is easy to split!!

 

just be carefull putting it on an open fire it does spit a bit LMAO

I have seen a fair bit of that ash round Andover. Good for cricket bats as well.

I think this was ash we had a year or so ago. I prefer Beech

Not being funny but I have read your posts.....if you are so paranoid about volume, type, price and whether you are being ripped off or not I would sell your stove and go back to gas

 

Best advise is buy a load, if you are not happy dont buy off that supplier again, when you do find a supplier you are happy with, stick with him

Steve if you have any of that ash you don`t like i will gladlly take off your hands so you can get some more beech

I sort out any conifer in my log stash and keep it for myself, it makes my stove glow
