look out for some farm sales always a bargain to be had, get the farmers weekly or similar

Just been looking through that and trying to assess the risks of buying second hand as opposed to new.

if its just for around the fields its ard to go wrong, look out for perished tyres and leaky rams. easy peasy dave, if its just a little trailer i would think about £500-£800

I bought a trailor off a local farmer, keep your eye out in there yards when you get around, spot one which hasnt moved for a while and offer to buy it. It worked for me.

I paid £300 pounds for a 6ton trailor, and an extra 100 on steel sheets to weld a new floor on bargain

couple of points

don`t worry to much about the top as ply or the like can sort that but have a good look at the axles and main load points, look for cracks around the tipping pivots /ram ends. make sure the body sits on the chassis often the get rolled over when tipped up.

most bits are replaceable or weldable.
