Recently needed a big saw but waiting for the new 395 replacement to be released so tried one of these farmertec 660 clone saws as it was cheap so far so good has anyone tried one

I remember a few years ago these sort of things came in kit form and you had to build them. Is that still the case ?
Probably better made than some of chainsaws you see on amazon etc.

Still in kit form but you can get fully built ones to. I have one as a backup saw and runs sweat as a nut to be fair.

I just took a look on YouTube. To be fair for the £300 quid they cost they look pretty good. Obviously I wouldn’t expect it to last like a stihl ( well it might run there new stuff close [emoji23]) but at £300 quid as a spare / backup or a farmers saw I’d say it looks fair.

I have milled with mine with a 36" GB bar and works well and as mentioned for a backup saw its ok.

Think the Americans are more into modding saws and tinkering with them than here doesn’t seem quite the brand snobbery either

Kits come in companies colours there ore builts are blue
