I don't know what palmar perforation or thumb avulsion are but they don't sound good.

Palmar perforation is the same as volar radio carpal perforation.

I will look up thumb avulsion but it sounds like you look at your injured thumb and go “ Yuk” !

The ulnar collateral ligament can remain in one piece but pull a piece of bone away from where it attaches at the base of the thumb. This is called an avulsionfracture. Skier's Thumb causes pain and swelling. Your skin may bruise and appear discolored

Ah funnily enough I did that to my thumb in the last rugby game I played in at University. Right thumb swelled up like a kiwi and went purple, then once swelling down 4 weeks in a cast. Gave up the rugby and concentrated on rowing.
