Hornnbeam planks wanted

Ash sounded great as it's very hard once dry, but has a porous texture to the end grain. Lots of little holes. Pear wood is probably the best wood and may be easier to source

i have three large boards of whitebeam which is even harder that hornbeam if they would be of use.

3-4" thick i think.about 16"wide and 6' long. bone dry.

Yeah it's either hornnbeam or beech or maple. You can also use sycamore but it's much softer. 

I have 2 inc thick beech, I’m in Abergavenny and can deliver in South Wales

But Steve, is whitebeam usually harder than hornbeam?
I’ve cut quite a few whitebeam and as a sorbus it’s usually rotten and crap.
