HUSQVARNA is set to unveil its newest generation 90 cc class chainsaw next year.

Keen to see what this will be like....or a bit late to the Stihl party of bringing out new stuff 500, 400, 881, 500i etc?

I think Stihl had to respond with some new gear after marketing the pieces of crap that where the early 261 and any 362. That crap was up against 550/560 and several other saws from Dolmar/Makita/Echo who all took a cut of the market.
The new Stihl saws I have used are impressive, Husky chain speed and pick up in a Stihl shaped box, be interesting to see how durable they are long term in the hands of users not saw collectors.

Looking forward to trying a 595 though.

I think it depends if they can afford r&d of developing a new one too how many they will actually sell

Judging by the demand for the second hand ones going at new saw prices I’d say it would be worth it. Honey brothers got a batch of 880’s a couple of weeks back. Sold in days all at full rrp instead of the usual 27% discount from rrp.
I will be getting a new 881 when they come out.

Recently seen used 395s selling for more than i've paid for a new one. Demand will always be there, you'll always need big saws for the biggest trees, but emissions regs are making it hard for manufacturers.

They're still available in lots of markets, i'm tempted to import some to sell.

881s are out now, around £1,600 apparently.
