Yeah, but the difference between the logosol winch and the woodlands winch is enormous.

The logosol winch/crane is welded 50mm x 75mm x 6mm  thick tube and three times as long as the woodlands which is 45mm square x 3mm thick bent tube with a winch mounted on the top, its not like for like

Well the Logosol kit is around £2000 and the Woodlands Mills version is under £500, so Id assume there is going to be a substantial difference in build quality. The Logosol Winch along is about £700 but you get the Winch and Ramp from Woodlands for less than this.

But the fact remains, you're getting a bolt on, custom made system that is designed to be securely stored (IIRC) on the Woodlands Trailer for very reasonable prices. If the Op can build a similar system, factoring in the same features for both the Winch and the Ramp Woodland offers for less than £500 factoring in his time then crack on. :)

Personally I know my limitations and could not. Johnsond is a very handy man and I know he could do it. He also built his own Trailer which is substantially better constructed than the Standard Woodlands offering which would allow him to easily mount the Winch etc. Might not be so easy with the Woodlands official version and then you have to consider invalidating the warranty on a brand new trailer as well.

All food for thought.

Dont know about the UK site but the US sites have these for sale. Could not see anything different, or cheaper? I'll assume you'll just convert the $ to £ and you'll have the UK price? Woodmizer UK will be able to source them for you surely.

just rang him. he is gonna send me some pics of the 80 quid kit. ta

in my experience, you don't just convert the dollar to sterling, you add a good 50%

Maybe I'm outta the loop. I was buying from the US a lot more when it was two bucks to the pound. Its still way cheaper for me to buy car parts direct from the US. Usually 2-3 days shipping, tax handled in the US no no dreaded Parcelfarce charges. UK dealers take your order, then call the same suppliers and and add their 50% and make you wait an extra week or two for the privilege. :D

Great value though at £80

What do you get for £80? A bit of 2" galvanised Box Section? :D

The Woodlands is quite nice actually. And a free winch thrown in too. :D
