Changing from Windows Laptop to a Mac

Also look at the refurbished ones from Apple direct. Bought 3 laptops, iMac and iPad all refurbished and never had a problem. You just have to wait for the one you want to come up sometimes.

Sound advice there thanks - what spec Mac and which dual document monitor would you advise?

We have just changed over to a mac my wife has used pc s for years and years and was dead against it but now loves the mac and would never change  back but she has all the Microsoft programs on ours. It is very intuitive but apparently  it is more suited for a male brain so the apple rep told me!! Its perfect if you are using iphones and ipads too as you can start it on one device and carry it on another but sure microsoft does as well, it is just so much easier and a lot more user friendly for us.

Is yours an older imac? I believe the newer ones you can just plug extra monitors straight into the unit.

 

I have 3 monitors but I have a mac pro and had to purchase an extra graphics card for the job

You can run all the MS Office programs from a mac.
I'm not sure if your macros will translate, but I don't see a reason why they wouldn't.

A major concern was will all the spreadsheets, templates etc. etc. I have spent literally 100's of hours designing,  import onto a Mac ?

Regarding the dual monitors.  The latest IOS has mirroring built in so just plug a hd tv into the hdmi port and either choose to mirror the screen or is as an additional screen.

 

I doubt you will need to have any space worries when connected to a 40” plus hdtv.

Oh and buy the most expensive you can afford which suits your needs.  
 

It will be an investment in the long run.  I would have probably gone through 3 or 4 pc laptops in the time that I have had this Mac.
