Iveco has a reliable engine and drive train. But the electrics are a nightmare always having little problems with my 15 plate one in the end sold it and got a transit again.

I had heard that they were crap on electrics. Might be narrowed down to man then. Got a few years to go yet, but was sitting here bored so thought I would do some research.

Iveco are prone to water ingress/corrosion to the ECU and the main plug socket that connects the wiring loom to the ECU.... I got caught with a 6.5t that had the problem and it was a very expensive nightmare, which was a real shame as the truck itself was very capable.

Did it render the truck unusable till it was fixed?

No but it kept going into limp mode intermittently.. getting worse all the time. Someone had previously tried to ‘fix’ it by splicing wires in to bypass the main socket..
If the socket has had water in it, it means a whole new wiring loom and ECU.
We had a new loom and socket fitted and a recon ECU but after it was fitted the turbo never kicked in again.... it was a nightmare.
We ran it like that just to earn it’s money back then sold it for spares,
Iveco main dealer wanted £6k to fit new loom and ECU.
Be careful.....

Thanks

I have a policy in  vehicles, I lease from new for three years, buy it at the end, keep it another year, then start again, so it may not be much of an issue,  but I am leaning towards man now!

It will need to be nearest equivalent to my double cab cabstar. From what I have researched, the fuse is a non starter , you cannot remove the rear seats, you cant have sat nav,  rear view camera, and when I enquired, bluetooth wasnt even an option!

Toyota too small, and no double cab option

so your looking 3.5 tonnes?

MAN.Crafter.Sprinter all shared. small/tiny Merc is a PSA van with different Knickers!

Renault is a sharee along with Vauxhall with Nissan.

Trouble these days is they'll sell you what they want not want you want! or try to!.

Take it you mean built in sat-nav/Camera in Head unit/console?
