Yes I know this is so either a piece of stainless steel in the resin, worth a go. Also got an engineer pal who can knock up a stainless steel shim to cover it.

Hi, it's possible that you might be able to get original parts, last year I got a lot of genuine parts for my 012 from Germany through my local dealer.... and not even expensive.... but I got the impression that they were trying to wind up that part of the supply chain......original gaskets for instance, could only be bought in multiples.

The way I see it, the saw's of this era are definitely worth maintaining if they've not been abused beyond repair...the up to date equivalent that's marketed today is plastic crap and doesn't come close.

has the bore of worm drive worn away then as looks like been plenty of movement!

No it doesn't appear to be, I've ordered a new one anyway, also on the video I saw the damage was also excessive over the oil pump, hence the suggestion of a stainless steel shim to protect it. It's all cleaned up now anyway, awaiting bits, whether it goes again is another thing.

Watching/reading etc whats gone on with that one in video! I would replace Rim/Drum and needle bearing as looks like had play in them as worn which allows drum to wobble so spring arm is hitting plastic inside and by looks of it a pretty tight ship in there so with them and new oiler drive should be ok once repaired damage

I wonder why both saws (mine and the one in the video) are wearing in the same spot? You would think wear would be random not so similar.

Because the chain tension flexes the clutch toward that spot when cutting hard. Any wear in either bearing would make it worse.

Was the cover plate washer mounted on the crankshaft?

Just out of curiosity does anyone know how this pump differs from the one on the pole saws as they look the same and both shown as .55mm (is this the stroke?) but different part numbers.

Its all at the lower quarters of the rim/sprocket/drum area, cleaning/maintenance issue in my eyes.
