Monkey puzzle floor boards

So I want some floor boards for a project that I am gathering materials for ,so a lot of floor boards are pine ,but why don’t we see any monkey puzzle floor boards it’s pine one of the densest pines , I have quite a lot of monkey puzzle do you guys think it would work for floor boards or am I missing something as to why people don’t use it ,I think it would look ace as a floor as usual keen to hear your thoughts.

Mark that will be fine to use and will make great floorboards

Mark, the monkey puzzle is by definition not a Pine mate. it's an Araucarian.

 

also looking at the books the scots pine is harder than monkey puzzle.

black pine is harder still if it grows near you.

cedar of lebanon is a good one for flooring or douglas fir.

Be fine for floorboards and the look is the same as pine and hard wearing

Cedar of Lebanon is a quite soft wood and will mark easily with stilletoes etc. You would need to sand it down regularly to get rid of the marks.

Any softwoods will mark with stilletoes if a big fat bird is wearing them or fat bloke if they are cross dressers ?

I agree, but but some woods are just not suitable for flooring and cedar of lebanon is one of them.

For floor boards carpeted over they will be fine.Would not have an issue using it myself, Its hard on the planer so that is what i go by.

Hi I thought monkey puzzle was Chilean Pine but you learn something new every day ,but defo better than cedar of Lebanon and free as I have a load of monkey puzzle in the yard i
