Can you clarify 9 months early ?? . Tax year ends 5th april for 2019-2020 which was yesterday so i filed my return 5 am this morning as its the start of a new tax year, My books run april to april to keep in line with HMRC  dates, I am always on the button with things like this having been investigated in the past and glad to say all went well but caused a few sleepless nights. I am not sure where you are with 9 months early but be glad to help if you can explain ?? Just read your post again and reading between the lines he owes tax from a previous year but since then he has gone over into the next tax year earning via CIS payments ??

Are they going accept returns 9 months early?

I know whey are allowing those who should has submitted in jan up to 4 weeks to get them in and thus qualify for the help, but did not know they had offered to give tax rebates months in advance?

My bother tried to delay his July tax payment, due to being well in credit due to cis, but they said “No”, but that was back in feb.

I think you’ve got wrong end of the stick there.

You can submit 19/20 SATR from about now but you must have it in by 31 Jan 21. That may change under current circumstances but has always been the way.

If it’s likely you are due a rebate, get in early, if it’s likely a bill, leave it til later

And if you get it in straight away it can alter your July payment this year.... Make it more or less....

Always better to get it put in asap then you know where your at.

2 ways to look at that, They owe me money so i want it, If i owe them money they can bloody wait for it ? Also i can apply for the profit related help for the self employed now because i cooked the books ?

Fair play; I wonder what the record is for the fastest filing.  5 hours past the end of the year must be pretty close.
