Just stripped old 200t split exhaust im going to drill a hole in it where there is a restrictions see what happens as long as i can match the fuel should be fine but will get hotter.

You drill the hole 90deg to the body of the saw. Hard to explain but your trying to bypass all the twists and turns in the system. Will try and get some pics so gimmie 5 mins before you trash a muffler

Not the best pics. Hole is only 14mm which is conservative. Be VERY carefull not to drill too deep or you will bore through the back which is less than desirable. Remember to reset the carb to richen the high jet, you should gain torque not rpm. If in doubt don't do it yourself, alot of money in a climbing saw so don't kill it!

All my 200's, 357's and now my 372's are ported. noisier, but performance is worth it....

when you say ported, is that just the exhuast opened up, or have you actually moddified the intake and outlet ports on the saw?

Posted

Sorry should have said. My exhausts are ported (opened up) and the carbs tuned to suit. The real 'ports' on the saw are untouched, although I have 2 346's here due to go to a 2 stroke racing expert for true porting

one for each hand :scared::drunk:

is that being done in the UK, i suppose the only people who could do that are mx bike and cart tuners?

i am interested to see how much a muffler mod will up the power,

Its a guy I found on the internet, specialises in susuki racing bikes, but has doen a fair few chainsaws.

A muffler mod makes a big bifference. You can feel the saw has more torque and power.
