windsor speedtip

Alex, to give you a bit more on my story, i have already got 20 and 36 inch stihl bars so wanted one half way to run every day on the 660.

Stihl only supply 25 or 30, so didnt think there was much difference from what i already had so looked for other brands. I found this 28" windsor with a dealer on e-bay at good money and he could supply windsor chain with it so here we are.

I would say the saw has only had 12 or 15 tanks of fuel through since the new bar has been on, so a bit early to pass comment on the life span, but seems to be fine otherwise.

Dont really want to put a link to e-bay on this thread to discredit suppliers on here, but if you want i can PM a link for you.

You are correct - Windsor is the old Sandvik company and was bought by Oregon about 5 years ago. :001_smile:

Is that why i keep hearing that windsor bars are now worth trying, whereas in the past i was always led to steer well clear of them?:001_smile:

Have to be honest, we haven't had problems with the Windsor bars, or Sandvik before that, but I suppose it's horses for courses.....:001_smile:

I have to say that i have absoloutely no experience of them either way, its just what i heard, and was a real question for someone who knows them as oposed to the usual workplace opinions..:001_smile:
