Just this weekend did a deal to "re-home" the last of my Contra's x4( the 106cc size) and a couple of 070's one of the Contra's and one of the 070 were AV, had already a few weeks ago let the Contra "S" go along with a 090 AV . Just have to hammer out the deal for the 090 "G" but I've kept one very late year 090 AV. To be honest the advent of HyperSkip chain it really makes the big old beasts a bit redundant ?

Having a look yesterday at some specs, I came across a chart for depth gauge setting.
090G - 1.2mm

And that'll be with a 6' bar

That must of been for the 1/2" boat chain version ?

Found one in a skip at the dechetterie a couple of years ago, cleaned her up, soaked the chain in oil as it was bone dry, gave the bar a good wire brush off and filled up with fresh fuel.

Started 3rd pull, cut quite well once the chain was sharpened.

Anyway, a friend was desparate for a saw as his AV38 had siezed up so he uses it for now.

The Contra "S" - is that S for stop switch, if I recall?

I used to drool over 090's,
But then I tried an 090 and 070.

So heavy, sooooo slow.
Waste if time compared to an 880.
Unless you go the 160+cc
Piped exhaust route.
