so i was right!  a fitter/dealer (dunno which one) made a comment about this 45hp Evo some weeks back and lets the cat out of the bag.  Looks to be a great machine. Wonder why the infeed roller  position was changed on the 45hp version versus the 26hp one?

It hasn't? The EVO 165 45 & 26 is the same.
