Yeah, switch on stick, Pree select low for 1,2,3,4, flick forward for 5,6,7,8

thats the one, you have to use a lorry with one in youre test

That’s range change with a logical order of 1st L, 2nd L, 3rd L, 4th L, 1st H (5th) 2nd H (6th) 3rd H (7th) 4th H (8th)

Splitter box are half, third or quarter gears in each gear, thus the logical order is (half gears) 1st L, 1st H, 2nd L, 2nd H, 3rd L, 3rd H, 4th L, 4th H, 5th L, 5th H, 6th L, 6th H, 7th L, 7th H, 8th L, 8th H

L = low range or the low split gear.

H = high range or the un-split full gear.

You will need a medical first. Dont go to your doctor, ask the training centre you are going to use to recommend a place. A doctor will charge in the range of £100. I had mine done for £35. Check your provisional license , i couldnt take any lessons because dvla sent mine back as a full hgv/lgv/psv and i am not the only one. Good luck

I had to order the application form for the provisional, while waiting three weeks for an appointment for the medical, the form for which you download.

Once you've passed the medical only then can you apply for the provisional. It isn't too clear, but the form says if you have a car licence you have to send that off too, it implies if you have cat C1 then you don't have to but ringing to ask they said I had to. That can take 3 weeks to come back, mine has been gone since 1/12/09 and they reckon they've not had it yet :(

Only when they have approved the provisional application can you book either the (two part but can be taken in one go) theory or the practical test, or lessons. Then theres the CPC but since that (and most of the rest for my campervan) doesn't apply to me can't say much on that! Another theory test for sure anyway.

The medical needs redoing every 5 years once you're over 40.

Did you also know everyone needs to renew the photo on their licence every 10 years, for which there's a fee, or big fine etc? Since they must know how long ago everyone renewed, and therefore who is instantly fineable, you'd think that would be an automatic cash crop!
