Am i reading this right if you dont have a ticket you dont know what your doing.

:heeeelllllooooo:

Every time i hear this makes me laugh i done many windblown i dont have that ticket i learned from people who have 35-50 years experiance with all kinds of situations.

People get the impression once you have a ticket you can do it thats just wrong.

Im just offering a valid opinion. Learn the job before you waste good money on tickets if you pass these courses with no experiance there just a waste of time.

I'm not sure whether insurance require tickets now though, I bet they'd ask for them if it came to a claim.

Totally agree here...although you can also pick up bad habits if you learn before taking your tickets....my instructor took ages banging them out of me and i only had a few years experience before i did mine...so its 6 of one and half dozen of the other

Doing your tickets teaches you safety aspects that someone who's been doing trees for 50 years without their tickets wouldn't even know.

Doing your tickets doesn't automatically make you a great tree feller/surgeon, that's to do with technique which you only learn with practice. The NPTC's are really just about safety.

You just have to prove that you know what you're doing - problem is your tickets are the only thing that they accept as evidence of this!

Your very right. Althought if you have a previous company you worked for i think thats acceptable as proof as long as they are qualified.

I just think they should be more recognised and people should ask to see them but they just want cheap jobs which is a piss off when you spend all that money.
