Agreed, done my fair share of horrible hedges just keep your head down and keep going. I often where one of my normal work gloves on my right (Cutting hand) and then a thick gauntlet type glove on my left hand (Chucking hand) then just cut and chuck. Tidy up with a hedge trimmer at the end job done.
