Hedging job today

Ive had the same happen with chains whilst cutting blackthorn scrub jumping off bar. Think new chains are worse as more "snatchy"

 

I think ideal chain for smaller diameter would be 1/4  pitch or maybe an anti kickback type.

 

Bit like a high tpi silky (fine tooth) does a smoother cut on smaller diameter branches

I've often wondered what they would be like.

 

I've also had chains go slack when slashing away at loads of thin stems, it's just what happens.

Same thing when smashing up brash in the back of the truck in the dark, dark days of either no chipper or broken chipper.

 

The trick with hedges like this is to add a zero to the price and hope you don't get them.
