Here's a couple of pics of Ash and Oak boards I've done on my 130

The quality of finish you'll get depends a lot on condition of blade and the feed speed

Thanks mate , I have just ordered some nylon bushes for the uprights on the saw carriage as it’s quite wobbly only £30 so I think a service and new bushes, bearings, blade then it’s just a learning curve.

Thanks Mark

To be fair the bushes on the uprights don't make a great deal of difference, mine have been knackered for the last year.

Check the condition of the belt on the follow wheel if that is uneven or has flat spots that will affect the bandsaw.  When you leave the machine for more then a couple of days it's best to slacken off the tension otherwise a flat spot will appear on the follow wheel.

Hi I have already ordered the bushes only £30 including delivery,so can’t hurt to change them ,will defo look at the follow wheel ,so my next question is what type of bands to use I am reading a lot of good things about Ripper 37 bands ,what type do you use ,sorry if I am asking obvious questions but never had a bandmill before , but no time to play with it for at least another week doing my head in I have some nice logs to mill,English Elm ,SpaltedBeech ,western red, can’t wait.

 Thanks Mark

by the very design of a bandsaw you will get a slightly rippled effect to the cut, the chainsaw mill will always win out on finish.......till you run a pro bandsaw with a 6"+ band width
