Headstock for flail..which way round??

The two digger pipes go into a valve block where three lines run out to the motor. One line is smaller and runs into a banjo bolt set up on the end of the motor.

It has already been set up so assumed it would just go again as I haven’t changed anything other than making up a headstock for it.

Some fittings have washers, some not but all feel good and tight.

It’s seeping from this with no pressure, hammers out when you fire up the digger. Tried nipping it up but it’s already tight as hell. Can’t really see what it does, the body of the motor isn’t going to it, it just looks like it goes into the back plate but it’s obviously getting fluid from somewhere.

any ideas appreciated!

More pics required - where is it/what’s behind it/what does that grease nipple supply? I suspect your motor might have shat itself and oil is finding it’s way through the shaft into the drive flange and then seeping out through the bearing (but from the info and pic that is pure conjecture!).

I think you may be right, the bolt just holds the motor through the tinwork into the backplate that houses the bearing/rotor mounting and I can’t see why the hydraulic fluid would be coming out of that.

Was hoping it was something simple that I was missing. It has a heavy guard on the motor and was sold it in good condition. Can’t see the thing taking a knock that would get past the guard during pallet transport.

its looking like it would have been cheaper buying new, but I’m short of time and didn’t want the hassle hence buying one set up ready to go!
