Update

Managed to get round to looking at it closer, removed the side cover, took off the belts and spun  the rotor. Turns out its bent!. That would account for the vibration. It doesn't need balancing, it needs replacing. £700 I am told

Bugger, are you going to replace?

Kilworth are coming back to me Tuesday to confirm a price and availability. It has to come from Italy, and they are on a shutdown till then.

I have emailed the company someone above recommended to see if they can straighten it., then see which way to go

Quality won’t be the same as Italian made obviously but got quoted £350 for 1.8m Chinese flail rotor from co in Penrith. Same fittings as most ag flail mowers, in fact most just look like cheap Chinese ones badged up as something else these days.

That's another option, worth looking into. Three choices, repaired, replaced with genuine or replaced with chinesium!

Can't it be straightened ?

When GreenMech produced the 'Multitask' we had one out on hire and the rotor shaft got bent a number of times as a result of hitting concrete,  man hole covers etc.

It ran the "Sepi' head and it was a case of stripping the shaft out and straightening it using the gas on strategic points.

It would then go to Joe Turner for balancing.

Hoping so yes. Emailed a company with a photo who boast being able to do it up to 3.2m, so watch this space
