HI all. Just found this Thread and think I should write and let you know I pollard 57 willows along side the river Stour in Flatford, Dedham and Stratford St Marys for the Dedham vale AONB & Stour valley project for Suffolk County Council some had not been done for 30 years and it was the only way to save them from self destruction. After a year they have got 3 FT plus of re-growth.This year got 19 to do up river from last year at Wormingford.59765f82477a8_stratford3.jpg.31f9bff7f6282ccd59c628f7c9267e3a.jpg

Been down to essex to help out another arbtalker today, always love going down there this part of essex has got a real old country feel and lots and lots of historic working trees within the landscape, often tucked away.

I spotted some corkers that I will need to go back for on the A10 at some stage, not an easy place to pull over and snap away!

but heres a few crackers from various spots.

And David, have a CLOSE look at this ash! awesome old pollard, must be 4ft diameter! but would seem its been half re done top of remaining lopped and ivy removed (good job too) but just look at thos regrwoths from the real hard in cuts!
