Made this last night.

Half kilo lean beef (trimmed)

Salt

Pepper

Chilli

Soya sauce

(Anything else you like)

Marinade and roll about in a bowl for half hour.

Rinse all marinade off. (Important)

Lay out between two tea towels and press gently to dry.

Lay on wire rack

Put in cold oven with fan on,

Or place in front of desk fan.

For 6-12 hours.

It's done. [emoji106]

For crunchy go about 5mm or thinner.

For chewy go about 20 mm or more.

I like it about 10mm.

It might not taste that nice now though, its 4 years old! :)

Ive always fancied a go at doing some beef jerky, Ive tried in the past but it didnt work out too great IIRC. I have a big lump of brisket as the youngest wants to make a beef stew so I might sneak a few slices and give this a go.

My favorite snacks at work are definitely the ones I can grab on the go, and snack vending machines come in handy for that. I often find myself reaching for a bag of chips or a protein bar when I need a quick pick-me-up. However, I'm looking at your homemade jerky and it looks so appetizing that I'm drooling. I'll remember this and prepare the same myself.
