Iranian crisis

I don't watch terrestial news - I don't see it as news. I see this latest crisis as a crude attempt to start a war - wasn't Vietnam started due to an attack on an American ship [Gulf of Tonkin attack] that later it seemed never happened or certainly the facts are in a lot of doubt? Iraq and weapons of mass destruction that never were?

Once enough time passes it seems no one cares that much...

I've seen reports [un researched] that one of the owners of the tankers hit by a 'mine' say that his crew reported it was definately a projectile of some form.

Doesn't the evidence need to be overwhelming before starting a war?

Are we really going to do it all over again? :(

Of course we are!

I caught a brief glimpse of a headline earlier, didn't bother reading it though. Its inevitable. Sooner or later America are going to take us into a world war, only a matter of time. The world is fed up with their war mongering, it will only take a few of the big ones to say enough is enough and team up.

What is so crazy is they don't even have to do that much to get a war! A couple of explosions and off they go.

It is sickening - how many fanatics were and are being created? If this country was attacked and your family killed or worse - what would be your mindset be against those that had done it? Especially when those that had done it had deliberatly caused the attack in the first place?

Only hope I can see is America has such a catastrophic economic crisis they will not be able to fund another war. It's a long shot I know..

Most people choose not to care because they find it easier to continue with their lives of convenience and "western" (read americanised) culture.. my thoughts on it at least.
People forget about Cambodia, a neutral country which had more bombs dropped on it during the Vietnam proxy war against the communist influences of Russia and China than were used throughout world war two. Two million tons of bombs.
Two million tons.
On a neutral country.
Possibly the greatest act of continued terrorism ever perpetrated on the planet.

How many people know about Tonkin?
And how many countless others we don't know about.

I think if you acknowledge it then you are morally obliged to do something about it. That is a crazy statistc. What would happen if that money/time/energy were put into the planet... or even just not put into bombs.

It can only be a matter of time before a floating Iranian passport gets discovered.

:) Yep - 'We have found unequivocal proof of Iranian involvement'!

..and do what exactly? Honest question.. the use of so much energy to kill people and destroy ancient civilisations sickens me, yet here I am bitching about it on the internet. Not exactly being an activist is it? Kinda hard to denounce their actions when we claim such close association to them (I'm in Ireland) we just spent millions to have their great leader over to play a round of golf at his mansion, then tell our limp twisted leader to build a wall from donegal to dundalk. A clueless fool who cannot even compose coherent sentences. In control of the largest military in the world.

The sooner it implodes over there the better for the rest of the world.
