Lithium Batteries

Hi All

 

Merry Xmas to you all.

 

Got me X170 Action Camera, and I need to get recharegable batteries for it, and an SD card.

 

I see in Argos they have energizer lithium batteries, but they are NOT lithium ION batteries. - Are these one and the same?

 

Also... they have all these special/expensive new 8gb SD cards that are meant for HD recording. Do I need this kind of card or will bog standard do.

 

Brush off those hang overs.. with a vodka/red bull (usually works) and I shall hear from you soon.

For batteries look on the channel 5 Gadget show web site, they did a good review on rechargeable batteries.

As far as I know 8gb is 8gb, you can't have a better 8gb than another. I'm guessing its just branding, using "HD" to get an extra few quid of you.

 

Don't know much about batteries though!

not so, theres a huge difference in how quickly sd cards process information......the speed a digital camera takes photos at can be dependant on how good the card is apparently

Really? I can't see how, its just storage space there is no "processing" going on, thats all done in the camera?

 

I'm not sure I know anything, so I'll happily be wrong. But the headcam in question is not HD or anywhere near it, so I doubt the card would make any difference.

 

Personally though I still think its all a con. Like when they try and sell you better cables for digital hi-fi stuff. digital is digital it either works or it doesn't you can't have a better or worse digital signal. But thats cables its a different thing, but similar.

It must be the transfer rate, or summit like that. Sounds like a con. It definitely ain't the hd/digital side of things

it come with wall charger and car charger (handy for topping the batteries up at lunchtime) and the batteries are one of the best. we have had ours almost 2 years and still have the original batteries.

 

 

and whatever batteries you do get, check the 'mAh' rating. only get ones with more than 2000mAh.
