sorry guys this old chest nut again! which log splitter?

ive narrowed it down to the thor mignon prof and the ballario forrestello (?) a11, both petrol engined, both with waist high table,

the thor is 10.5 t

a11 is 11 t

the thor is nearly 500 quid dearer, i know its got the system leader foot pedal thing but is it worth another 500?? i want to order it in the next day or two to avoid the extra vat

any thoughts

Have owned and and used thors a fair bit (Dean's got my old one) and was always happy with them. Haven't had a lot of a go with the system leader but I would say it's more useful on a big vertical than on a table splitter IMO as it's more as a hands free holding device for tall thin logs than anything else.

I do also now work for the UK importer of Ballario so do have a fair bit of experience with them too - the A11 is a popular model for dealing with arbwaste and there are a couple of guys on here already have them and should be able to give some input. There is a new version of the A11 just been launched (first one got delivered to the customer Tuesday) - price is a touch more but not hugely depending on model.

There may be 1 or 2 current model ones left at special prices :thumbup1:
