hey guys was just wandering if any of you guys climb on the treeflex harness if so what do you think of it

girlfriend climbs in one and thinks its comfy but has a problem with the leg loops becoming loose and no where to put a clip for hooking up her 192. apart from these few niggles she thinks it great.

its not without its minor niggles, but i love it cus it dont give my back no probs! the reson there aint no chainsaw clip is cause youre supposed to use the rear centre clips!! thats how most modern harnesses are being designed nowadays.

i had the same problem with the leg loops coming loose.other thing i didnt like was the shackles......when out on the tips there would be a bit of resistance and you would settle into that posistion to cut.then there would be a jerk as the d ring popped over the shackle when you adjusted a little bit. yer the chainsaw attachment is in the centre

Those shackles are a desgin flaw no way should the sliding D be able to slide over them.

My harness has a rear attachment for hanging a saw but where do you clip it short???? I hate to have my chainsaw flapping about feet and like it hung short within easy reach so a side clip or at least somewhere to put one makes sense. Having to reach round and find your saw lanyard behind you to drag up a big saw repeated times during a climb is less ergonomic than finding it within easy reach at your side i'd assume, its just personal preference though.

 

I also like the way people assume there back is better now they are in a treeflex to me thats good promotion, there is nothing ergonomic as such about a treeflex it will not neccessarily improve your back or be any more ergonomic than any other modern harness out there.

On the close clip front for the saw I use a petzl carry tool. does the job.

I have broken 2 petzl carrytools on the harness, the first one snapped whilst climbing after I bashed it and the other one lost its metal clip. I now have a simple snap karibiner instead Clog Straight Gate Karabiner - Tiso.com , I had originaly intended to sew it in position to keep it pointing outwards but TBH it works fine as it is.

 

As for the back comfort, I have no idea how ergonomic it is, its just comfy full stop.

i just use the big petzl carrytool instead of the small one, its way stronger and has a bigger gate so less fumbling.
