milling perhaps twice a week large diameter beaming through and through timber mainly hardwoods but large diameter over 1mtr and up to 36 foot, currently using  a band rack and a circular rack with 8 foot blade but need to get more "up to date" and commercial, its taking too long and loosing too much in kerf.

general thought were horizontal band mill but no idea what make or new/ 2nd hand... budget 10-20k?

any ideas?

Did you look at the "poleSaw" range? Ttm800 or similar may suit?

Any reason for a vertical mill,Why not do like most of us who mill and go for a bandsaw mill which operate  at a really quick speed and very accurate.Lots of options to

Woodmizer,logosol and woodlands all make good bandsaws.
It's the loading and turning which eats time.
10k for a mill and another 10k for hydraulics [emoji106]

yeah  we've a telehandler and log tongs to not so worried about that, tbh i've only got vertical as thats how i started out 20 years ago i'd be happy with a horizontal but needs to be able to cope with long and big diameter...

I have sent you a message as looking at selling my 7 month woodlands HM 130 as upgrading to a woodmizer.
