I ended up with the a new short block after my first 560 sucked the gasket in and then I over tightened the crank bolts, wasn’t a hard swap over and the saws still going now, learnt a lot doing it too... I can take a apart a 560 or 550 quite confidently now and have done a couple more bottom and top end rebuilds.

I don’t mind stripping Stihls but the only thing i learn when trying to work on huskys is not to bother. I find them so much of a pita that i’m unlikely to buy a new one for a long while.

Great saws when they’re working though.

All depends on what you are used too working on, i am sure with some service training and the correct tools, you would find the Husqvarna just as easy to strip as the Stihl, maybe easier!

I've done Stihl, Husqvarna and a few jobs on cheap Ryobi or other generic shop makes and can't see how undoing screws on any of them is more awkward than any of the others. Some of the cheap ones use odd fittings like throttle cables instead of linkage which can be a pain but Stihl or Husky are mostly OK.
