I have an extra cigar lighter socket in the back of my 4x4 into which I plug a magnetic LED worklight, fixing it on top of the roof to shine over the trailer. Works for me putting the trailer away after dark but it isn't instant.

It's an electrical splice so you can splice a spotlight wire into your original reversing light wire by clamping it shut.

Or you break down & they cant tow your trailer.
