I've got stacks of solvent weld, but I doubt it would withstand the heat so close to the heater. I asked Vesp, sorry I meant watched YouTube, where someone tried the same with a Y piece and it melted it.

Can you devise a tin heat shield to keep it away from heat?

Something like that but I've no way of supporting it and I think that would sag when it gets hot?
