I knew a guy that had a specialist come out to his house stripped everyting out of his listening room apart from the seperates in the centre of the room with a chair and the speakers in the corner, he spent tens of grands but believe me it sounded awesome, it was like the orchestra was in the room, dance music sounded dreadfull on it though, when you get that specialised it goes into hyperspace.

Sounds like my system. Better than live performances haha:001_cool:

It was awesome mate think it was made by Audio note, plenty of pennys.

Now your talking serious hi-fi kit, none of this foreign solid state muck.

I will post a pic up of the current Audionote setup in the lounge after Frank has shown off his Linn/Naim.

Also I am going to dispute the "fact" that Naim make the best hi-fi kit in the world (I have heard most of it), Frank pm me if you would like to come to the house and hear some serious toys, the kettle is always on for other saddos like me who want to discuss hi-fi or listen to some LP's.

Don't you realise that posting 'FACT' after a comment makes it the undeniable truth? The fact that Frank uses the term indicates to me that he's probably too young to have heard of Linn - probably in his early twenties.:001_tongue:

But you're right, quality kit that it is, stating that Naim make the best hi-fi in the world is extremely debatable - FACT! (sorry:001_tt2:)

My dad did have one for a while, he sold it a month or two ago, i think it cost about £900 new, he got the two part system, the big speaker/single cd deck and the radio and 5 cd part too, all came to over £1k, but it is loud enough to use outside for a good party. Personallly, i would have chosen something else, i use the bose in ear headphones which i cannot rate to any others for sound quality, they are just like aving a proper system either side of your head.

i use a companion 5 system on my pc and that can provide some prety serious volume.

HEY, Late tewnties actually. haha I believe Naim to be the BEST because I own NAIM and I'm biased. haha

Oh and heres an extract from their website

"CD555 CD player

First shown and demonstrated at The Hi-fi and Home Entertainment Show, Heathrow 23rd-25th September 2005, Naim's current reference CD player, the CD555 with 555PS delivers the ultimate musical performance from a CD.

The CD555 makes no attempt to play DVDs, DVD-As or SACDs. It doesn't have a digital output. Nor does it have a variable output. The CD555 simply plays CDs and at that it excels. We are confident that is the best CD player ever."

I believe everything I read haha:thumbup:

Seriously though, when I upgraded my "system" it was all about the name, so when i found a UK company called Naim, that no-one round here had heard of I had to try em. Since then i have uprgraded again through Naim Audio and really, really rate their stuff. I love everything bout it. The plain black moody looks with the simple green lights just oooze quality, then when you turn it on. OH MY GOD.

Denon, Bose mmmm fisherprice stereos mate. haha (that was a joke)
