Not good to leave pegs no,don't usually myself,but dare i say it a few up the stem are maybe a good thing.For the cambium saver etc

If its a large stick or pole I leave a few pegs . I always leave them on the same side directly above each other maybe 6 / 7 ft apart .

Sounds like a quick way to self castrate to me!!!

I like to cut all pegs off then if I need to tie in again I just cut a wedge with saw and run rope through that.

Works for me.
