For the price of them dude it’s probably worth buying a couple.. but I probably would not miss them in any way...I still have my topping strops for that matter !
Thing is with the rings it’s more of the hype shite that goes with it that bothers me , X this and that like your gonna be some kind of X games Jeff capes X man super hero ... f&@k off ! stick a few videos of some one dumping half ton loads on them like super hero and you have your self a product it’s like turning a job in to some special event is exactly what this industry does not need.

I know what you mean about the glitz. It’s not my bag either but it’s probably encouraged people to experiment, innovate and put stuff online etc, some of which is useful.
