Good luck Roughy. Did the job with the council not work out?

I got the job only if I'd learn to climb.
Found out over the last couple of weeks that I really can't climb.
Get to 30' and my brain freaks out.
Every time.
So I handed my notice in yesterday.
They want to keep me on for a few months until they can recruit.
It's a shame cos it's quite fun working with the council.
Really decent crew and very varied work.
Wages are really crap though.
I'm hoping I can upgrade the van before November.

Fair play. I'm lucky, Bolam taught me how to climb...

being serious, I'd think anyone that needs a good, reliable freelancer would be on the phone.

I hope it works out for you, and ideally that would be a feasible wage for a good groundie, but in reality think you might be hard pushed at that rate, I pay max £120 for a groundie with similar quals/kit. But stick to your guns, if everyone demanded that money prices would have to go up!

I still do odd days and charge more than that with just my own PPE, it's a lot less than I was on before.
