Its straightforward enough.

Put the ad in your paper, see how many objections you get, fill in the application forms, pay the fees and send it off.

A restricted licence covers you for carrying your own goods and tools, and is slightly easier to get.

It will cost around £700 in fees.

An “O” licence is a simple thing and relatively simple to acquire.

There is a bit more to it than this but the main elements are

A suitable place to keep the vehicle

The ability to inspect and maintain it to the required standard or have an agreement in place to someone else do it for you

The funds available to do the above

do you have to park the vehicle in a certain place

seem to remember a scaffolder mate having probs with parking his lorry

One of the main points of the licence is the operating centre

Cheers guys as i thought really although someone told me that you had to have a certain amount of money,in the bank to prove you can run and maintain it any truth in this cheers DB.

You have to have access to funds to provide for the required standard of maintenance and repair.

Most people take this to mean a good bank balance but in truth an overdraft facility or credit card can suffice.

£3400 for the first vehicle and £1700 for each subsequent vehicle applied for, assuming you are applying for a restricted licence.
