Looking over the forum there seems to be a lot of mixed opinions on many different matters regarding wood burning and multi fuel stove.

It would be interesting if you could list:-

Positive aspects of owning a stove

Negative aspects of owning a stove

Love the radiant heat. You just cant beat a flame.

Hate the cleaning up all the dust from opening the door and the mess that falls through the log basket.

Sheet of newspaper or similar in bottom of the basket helps reduce it a lot

But all these tiny negatives surely give way to the positives, but only for real stove lovers.

If I were a retailer, would I mention all the negatives, I think I would, but in reality, all the new builds with a stove, the new installs because it's carbon neutral, saving on this and saving on that, they get used at Christmas, and because Charles is coming over. Nothing wrong with any of that of course but we all know it's a faff and if we wanted a stove installed without our knowledge, no chance. Xx

I've lined the sides and bottom of our log basket with some of that clear plastic sheeting that comes on a roll

Do you not think that by the time someone approaches a stove retailer they have to all intense and purposes made up their mind that they want one, just a matter of costing them? There is so much information available on the internet today that you can research stoves in the comfort of your own home.
