Muddy yard

The track down to my logpile and woodchip is on a very slight slope and is getting muddier and muddier by the day. I want to put some road planings down so that I don't get stuck every time I unload the van, but the lady I rent the yard from is not keen on the idea. Has anyone ever used those temporary plastic grids for parking on grass? Would these be any good? Or does anyone have any better cheaper options? (Apart from getting a land rover)

Cheers

I have used those plastic tracking pieces before when i worked at a local flower show the field they were on was very soft and then it rained so as you could imagine it turned into a mud bath all the pieces came adrift from one another with the trucks and such like things driving over them!

I took the 6 tonne dumper accross which the guy who owned the tracking said " it will be fine its taken heavier before" so i drove accross it fell through the tracking and got stuck, then got the JCB to tow it out and the other lad got that stuck turned into a disaster cars and vans stuck everwhere.

Personally i wouldnt use it!

what wood chip :laugh1: that just makes it worse & a mess

as long as you keep putting fresh on top they are fine, got the transit out of muddy holes loads of times with a few shovel fulls of wood chip.

Use them in gateways to makes a lot of difference soaks up the moisture.

also they don`t wreak a mower if you need to mow the track or field

good call Gavin:thumbup:
