Semi hitch should be quite easy to rebush the back pin to maintain tightness? A few quid in bushes in the powertilt every 1000hrs I think would be pretty cheap maintenance...

I looked at what they went for second hand and decided to just sell old for £250 and then buy another new one for £350 but they’re a bit dearer now.

tilty set up looks like £8k so more like £10 if I add factory pipes although I’m waiting for prices from steelwrist for two pipe and control system. I’ll look into tilt hitch today though, if I could get hydraulic hitch, extra aftermarket line and tilt for £4k I’d probably just go for that for ease and use my grab the same way Ive done for years on the offset and hammer... Feet going like a Irish dancer!

Anyone thinking of a 4 pipe Setup and a Tiltrotator, do your homework as you'll inevitably end up with a changeover switch to go from Tilt to Grab or Rotate.

One of the budget Engcon deals leaves you without Auxiliary ports to even run a grab.

The Control systems cost, you can't beat them for nice setups to operate and they only need the 2 pipes, but 4 pipe machines will always command a premium come resale.

Anyone thinking quick hitches should be thinking of fitting the 'S' type whatever their application, they are the best out there, and if you want Twinlock then Steelwrist and SMP produce some great ones.

A lot of these hitch`s throw the bucket geometry to feck, the whites hitch on the three tonner makes the bucket fall short of the dozer blade for crumbing up and also spills when loading over the top of a tipper . The older machines without a quick hitch keeps the bucket flat to the dozer blade and wont leave half a shovel on the floor, the one below leaves a barrow load out of reach.

Is that the hitches fault though? I know some of the geometry on these hitches compromise breakout force, but in the photos above the Kubota seems to have a very short blade- my Takeuchi is another foot at least longer than that which helps the clear up.

Still nothing from steelwrist today so thought bugger it I’ll just get the off the shelf and move on, rang dealer to organise picking up sv26 this week he says can’t do it Aand Y no longer importers for yanmar and don’t know who is going to get it. If you like the machine ring Molson about Kobelco SK26 it’s the same near enough. Had a look and yep looks good, ring Molson yeah, yeah someone from sales will call you straight back. Nothing. Is it me?thought buying new would save me time, must have put 40 hours in already..that’s over a grand of time spent and no happy customer to pay the bill!

Where are you based Lee? Don’t Farols deal in Yanmar? Shame your not nearer Devon there’s a good yanmar dealer here and last time I spoke to them they had a sv26 in the yard.

No what you mean actually about the hassle factor of buying a new machine but got to say that CBL for Takeuchi were fantastic, no effing about at all despite me being a fairly small fish to fry.

Don’t know who you’re speaking to or not as it seems, but boy Molsons won’t be happy with this.

They are generally spot on with any dealings I’ve had, genuinely care about making the machine exactly as the Customer wishes. Molson are doing some great Engcon installs plus any extra touches like guarding and lighting to give guys in the UK the closest thing to a Swedish Dealer service, where machines generally have extras fitted to at least the cost of the base machine, most often more!
