Stihl hedge cutter cutting out.

Evening all just after a bit of advice I have a hedge cutter that fires up no problem then after about 3 mins just keeps cutting out. Then leave it a few mins then starts up again. I have had the spark plug out and air filter. Any ideas what it could be?

Check the tank vent is not blocked . Try running it with the fuel cap slightly open . If it keeps going then its likely the tank vent is blocked .

look at the spark arrester make Shure its not bunged up  with carbon

after its cooled and started again does it run all day or just for another 3 mins? Is it a HS45? Mine had an issue like this and it was the coil on its way out. As soon as it stops, pull the plug and see if its sparking.

Is it a 4t engine - one with inlet/exhaust valves in it?

Adjust the tappets, they always lose their setting!

Evening no it just cuts out again and again going to have a good look at it when I get chance

check the fuel filter in the tank has not fallen off
