I wouldn’t put my life on an old harness mate. Not far off an old rope. You can trust metal but would defo need to know the providence of any fabric safety gear

If a mate that I trust said you “can have this x year old harness that has not taken a decent fall as I’m too old/fat/ won lottery “ then I would

I was kindly donated a Willans for postage price and have used it a few times, not for climbing but just to secure me in a tree when I get up there. It's a heavy old thing but I would trust it to hold me if I slipped. I'd like to have a go at climbing but at 65 I think I've left it too late :D

There was nothing kind about that :D

Just kidding.  It was my first harness.  The pain I endured in that sometimes.  The side d's would really dig in at certain points.  Harnesses have come a long way!

I agree. I used a whillans once and that was once too often. If harnesses hadn’t have improved we’d be doing a lot more work out of Mewps.
