Hi Gavin,

That is some serious sign writing. I know you got it for free because of the grammatical errors but did you not have to accept a proof design first?

What was the original quote for that kind of work?

Also, who hands out "The best tree surgeon in sussex" award? Is it the Bognor Observer?:001_tt2:

Only pulling your leg. I know some pretty good tree guys down there, you must have some hot competition!

dont let your own views on advertising get in the way, unless you have a degree in it then your budget will decide what you do, what you may see is tacky might look awesome to the rest of the world, advertising and marketing is a very complex thing, it all depends on your target customer, this is where marketing comes into it. If you are wanting council work then a flashy van means nothing, you would be better with nothing as it can cause grief even just looking at jobs and create unwanted attention, if you plan on targetting local domestic work then visual is the way, there are lots of customers out there that are dislexic or cant read, so thats where bright and obvious comes into it and if you are driving along the rd then someone might only get a few seconds to catch the side, so you need to have a corrisponding advert in the yellow pages or website to make a match for them to find the number. in your case of just a back body on an l200 then you dont have much room for making yourself stick out, so i would go for the vehicle wrap on the whole body, but it needs to be good, very good and that will cost you a lot of money. Everything comes down to budget mate

An old picture but it shows the graphics. This cost me about £150 designed and fitted. It is printed vinyl stuck in single sections onto the aluminium sides and not cut vinyl. This is easier to look after and doesn't get caught on hedges/branches etc ripping letters off.

Aiming mainly for domestic work, keep it simple - do you really need a dozen bullet points on the side of the van? Consider the background colour vs the text. It isn't possible to read the text on the darling buds of may van in the last picture - can your potential customers read it from the other end of the street.

It will be your most seen advertising and will last you a few years so a few hundred on the van will be worth more than a few £k in the phone books
