Jappa 700

Looking to purchase a second processor, circular saw type.

Does anyone have any experience of this machine?

Pros and cons.

Any other recommendations?

Yes had 1 about 8years ago
Pros
Nice simple machine
Sliding table was light to use instead of rocking
Easy to maintain
Cons
Worked the wrong way round(for me anyway)
Not the strongest build quality so needed a bit of strengthening in places (new version might have sorted this)
Not the strongest splitter but quick.
Guards were a pain to open in a log dropped in wrong.
I now have a palax which I think is better although like I said the new jappa might be a lot better than the version I had.

Yeh it felt very strange being right to left but strangely would suit my current yard.
Palax combi, another very simple machine as we only do about 100m3 a year and its all arb wast

I started my business with a Jappa 700 and had no issues with it.  Easy to use and a great introduction to firewood processing .  I used the machine for about 7 years and when the business grew I upgraded to Posch 350 .

I started with a 700 and still have it,   has others have said its not that robust,  access to greasing points on the main drive is impossible unless the tractor is off the machine.    Changing the main drive belt set is also a bit of a nightmare.  But it does the job,  is as fast as anything else on 250mm and smaller timber.  Personally I found loading from the right easier,  but get the manual feed rack as well,  it speeds the job up given decent length timber.    Having bought a Posch splitter some years ago and seen the quality today I would look at the smaller Posch processors if funds allow.
