I can not believe people buy timber for firewood production! Madness. we can't get rid of the stuff, we cut it all on the job ready for splitting as when we do get the odd day to split we don't want to be wasting time cross cutting but we hardly have time to keep up with it we've got about 40 tonnes of oak and ash. I didn't realize there was that much of a market for it.

Are you nuts - why don't you just get some muppet from the job centre in your yard with a log splitter and sell the fire wood yourself?:heeeelllllooooo:

Because muppets from the job centre can't be trusted and won't work hard, also our log splitter runs off of our unimog!

You're seriously going to have your work cut out to make any money in this way mark. To cut to length, split and fill bags, and make a profit out of it, far easier ways to earn a living!

Myself and one member of staff cut, split and delivered 6 loads of logs today at £90 per load - that's not bad money, is it?

nice little wet weather job, or when you finish early, split it up, load up and flog it, surprising how much it'l earn you thru the year!

not bad when you take your wages, fuel, wear and tear on equipment/trucks etc into account, and factor in that while you're doing that you aint doing anything else, oh and its only 3 loads a day per man. What is a "load"? pickup, transit or 7.5tonner?
