ive been using samsons from the book they have produced, following what they say as best as i can. Each one seems to give me a bit of a lump for a crossover, unless im doing something wrong.

Does anyone have a good set of instructions for splicing yale blaze? was going to have a go at my first blaze..

I'd like to have a go at blaze. Got it lying here and wouldn't mind a shot at it.

I had a go again today. Managed to get a poison ivy splice almost finessed. Struggling to finish the bury as my hands were blistered at that point! Re spliced a double esterlon that I did dodgy last time. Need to learn how to whip them now.

Anybody got any tips for the poison ivy? I'm also thinking of having a go at Portland braid. Is that just a double braid splice?

tie it off to an immovable object, tow hitch or the like. Place a suitable krab in the eye and shock it... (and I don't mean show it your tackle!!)

let slack in the line then using all your body weight shock it by pulling really hard and quickly. should pop home no bother.

Cheers rich. I've conveniently got two loops inside my container which I've been using as a point with a sling through so I can clip onto it. Worked well. Just need to have another go and find something to yank it with!

Will be having another go at 16 strand soon!
