Arborisk Renewal

That time of year again to renew. I've been with Arborisk for 5 years, no issues although I've never had to claim.  Insurance covers Public and Employee Liability, Plant / Hired in Equipment and assests on a new for old.

Lots of amendments in this year's policy which I'm not happy with ( all have been mentioned before on previous threads if you want to find out) , would like to know what Insurance Outfits others are using please guys?

Heard NFU is good?

Thanks

Russ

I was with Arborisk moved to trust this year as they were cheaper and have a new for old replacement policy on all your kit.

Arborisk said they would only give the depreciated value so it was a no brainier for me.

Thanks Macca, the new for old was one main issue. I queried today how you can value deprecation on a saw, when your 66 is the same age as your 261 but the bigger saw has had less use and is in better condition. Arborisk said they would have to come back to me after talking to the underwriter, Specialist Broker???????

Arborisk paid out without fuss when we had a chipper nicked.

Watch Trust - if your turnover ends up higher than anticipated they will want more money out of you at the end of the year and use it as a way to prevent you leaving. It’s fair enough in one respect but we had a good year the last time I was insured with them and I contacted them a number of times during the year to alter our rates. Each time I was told not to worry and that it would be sorted at renewal - when the time came they landed me with a monster bill   for the difference in the previous year’s cover (we had no claims with them ever over a number of years, so they had done alright out of us). I was fed up and left on principle at the time, which was a lucky escape for them as we had the chipper taken not long after!
