And I can feel the mods' sense of relief that Mick told the clean version. xD

Quite so! The distastefully dark 'humour' options are almost endless with this scenario.

Probably best left at that!

I like John Lyndon, but I do wonder if the original radio interview was just a comment to shock, to fit into the punk image and now with hindsight just a case of jumping on the bandwagon.

Like lots of punks he sold out, can anyone imagine his reaction in the punk era telling him he’d be advertising margarine in the future:lol:

Patently obvious he knew and believed in what he was talking about in that interview.

I like him too.

He would know and believe in that interview, because it is now a matter of fact. The critical element is did he believe the same originally? Would he admit now, that the original conversation was said simply to shock and cause outrage, attacking a well known personality?

Personally I can't understand how,  if the number of people who say they were aware of what was going on, it stayed largely under the public radar?

The Louis Theroux/ Saville programme was odd as well, like Theroux knew but couldn't quite say. Saville was the ultimate example of hiding in plain view.

Haven’t seen that, I’ll try to find it.

It’s funny, JS is someone who, when the truth comes out, isn’t particular surprising because of his public persona. Always struck me as an oddball.

Ive known three blokes who have gone away for sex offences with under age kids. All of them were jack the lads, appeared to have plenty of success meeting women  of their own age and probably the last people that anyone would have suspicions of. I find these sort a lot more worrying.

Like I said, he hid in plain sight. He couldn't look so much like a sex case and actually be one, surely? As I understand it from the limited amount of studies I have read about, sexual offences are more about the control/ feeling of power than the sex itself. Unfortunately, it seems to be safer to assume the worst until proved otherwise just to be on the safe side.

Makes for a sad, distrustful world. And how do you prove a negetative?
