These two cases should send out a clear warning to others that damaging, pruning or felling protected trees has serious consequences, and that the council will not hesitate to take action against them

 

this isn't quite giving out a clear message. those who don't know may read this and not realise you can converse with the local tree officer and from that perhaps carry out works on the protected tree.

Is that all their fine was, I don't think that sends out a clear message, not when you look into their profit margins, or maybe it does. What do you think?

 

Plus they did 14 TPO'd trees with a 12 grand fine, when the permissible amount is up to 20 grand per tree... Now that would be a message and a half!:thumbup:
